The Guild: Season 3

Felicia Day... What else can I say?
The third season of The Guild was as good or better than the prior two seasons. For those of us who enjoy watching it on our TVs, this is the perfect way to get it, though I have to admit, I did watch it online this season, I just couldn't wait to see it.

I think that buying the DVD is a great way to show support for Felicia and all of her cast mates. Plus I like the idea of supporting something that hasn't sold out to the commercial industrial complex... oh, wait... didn't she make a video about that?

Anyway, Felicia is awesome and I just love her work, please make more!

The Guild getting better every season.........
Season Three of The Guild was so great. Wil Wheaton was a Great addition to the cast this season. Zaboo's psycho girlfriend Riley (or as Codex would refer to her "The Stupid Tall Hot Girl") is worth the purchase alone. You don't have to be a gamer to enjoy The Guild, though it doesn't hurt. Even if you're a little bit of a nerd you'll love this dvd. And let's face it, we all have a little nerd in us. Buy it, buy it now I say!!!!

LOVE THE GUILD!!
This season was even more complex and entertaining than the prior two! With the additional of Will Wheaton and the Axis of Anarchy we suspensfully waited for the next episode each week and Felicia did not let her fans down, she did a great job with this one. Buy this series, it's a great way to support the little guy and to show appreciation for Felicia and the entire cast and crew of the guild.

My Dog: An Unconditional Love Story

A must for all dog owners
Just screened this film today. It's wonderful. Heart warming and hilarious. You'll see a side of these actors and celebs you've never seen before.

Who doesn't love dogs?
It's wonderful to see the bond between people and their dogs. It's a beautiful relationship you don't ordinarily find with other animals. The stories portrayed are really heart-warming and sincere. You'll want to go out and rescue a dog after watching this movie.

Delightful film!
It's touching to hear a pet owner speak of their love for their pet. This film is no different, except most of the pet parents are celebrities. This sweet, heartwarming film is a must see for anyone who loves pets!

Visual Acoustics: The Modernism of Julius Shulman

Yes, but...
After waiting for nearly a year for the chance to see this, I had so hoped that this documentary would be worthy of Shulman and his extraordinary work. As mentioned in the video Modernist Shulman did not like Post Modernism architecture. Oddly what we have here, to present Julius Shulman born 1910 died 2009, is a dizzying Post Modernist chop chop documentary. I am absolutely enthralled by Shulman's photo work. And apart from the style of film making, what is most maddening is that Shulman's photographs, the very reason why the video should have been made, are usually on the screen for a period of less than four seconds each - four seconds! And during those sparse moments, Shulman's photos are moved around, swept across, have distracting CGI animated roads threading below - just too much razzle dazzle. Painfully, there is even a segment where a cartoon character is animated to walk in front of a few of Shulman's photos - the impact is unbelievably amateurish at best. Shulman's work was...

Better then expected
I loved this documentary simply because I feel like I met Julius and got to spend some time with him, if only via the screen. His simple approach to photography of single point and revealing his secret of combining natural light with artificial lighting to complement each other in order to reveal more layers was wonderful. Also, I liked the concept of how he was always relaxed and took the time to experience the moment and let the architectural, and the emotional impact of the moment, lead him in his shot taking; not letting components of that moment like dogs barking, be something that distracted him, but instead, gave him the opportunity to interact and respond as being one with the moment. Clearly his talent was to know how alive he was at every moment, and his photos reflect this energy.
